ST. NORBERT, Wis. - The Blue Devils split a pair of matches at the St. Norbert College Chick-Fil-A Invitational.
The Basics Game 1
Score: UW-Stout 3 – Dominican (Ill.) 0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-13)
Record: Blue Devils (3-1), Stars (1-4)
Location: Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center
The Blue Devils swept Dominican while hitting nearly 300 as a team with 48 kills. After trading points to start the first set, the Stars opened up a 10-6 and 17-13 lead. Stout started to rally and tied the set at 19. Back-to-back kills by
Lauren Duenkel helped lift Stout to take the first 25-21. Tied at six in the second set, Stout went on a 16-4 run to run away with the set 25-13. Stout quickly built a 11-3 lead to start the third set and easily went on to sweep the match 25-13.

The Basics Game 2

The Blue Devils fell in straight sets to St. St. Norbert. Stout opened the match on a 7-0 run and led 10-2. But a 17-6 run by the Green Knights gave SNC a 19-16 lead.Stout regained the lead with five straight points, but SNC closed on a 6-0 run to stun the Blue Devils 25-21. Stout opened the second set on a 6-0 run and held leads of 10-5, 12-7, and 15-11. The Green Knights tied the set at 18 and the teams traded points and set points until SNC took the set 34-32 with three straight points to close the set. SNC took the lead in the third at 4-3 and never gave it up. Building a 10-point lead and held on to close out the match 25-15.
