PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The UW-Stout Men's Soccer team fell 5-1 Sunday afternoon to Lakeland College.
Four second half goals lifted Lakeland past the Blue Devils. Luca Jones scored the programs first ever goal.
Lakeland took the early lead, scoring off of a touch from a free kick in the 16
thminute. The Blue Devils tied up the match before the half. In the 37
th minute, a great ball from Malachy Driscoll allowed Luca Jones to get behind the Lakeland defense. Jones raced in and scored his first collegiate goal and the Blue Devils first goal.
Lakeland retook the lead early in the second half. Stout remained down one until Lakeland added an insurance goal in the 74
th minute. The Muskies added two more goals in the final eight minutes of play to take the match 5-1.
Stout totaled 14 shots with four on target. Lakeland had 17 shots with 12 on target. Goalkeeper
Lucas Lang made six saves for the Blue Devils in the first half.

The Blue Devils will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 4 when they host Northland College. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. at Nelson Field.
