MENOMONIE - The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.
Justin Sedin and
Drew Buss earned the distinction.
Justin Sedin, a senior first baseman/designated hitter from Poplar, Wis., earned ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region Honors and was named All-WIAC for the second consecutive season. He led the Blue Devils and tied for third in the WIAC with a .414 batting average. He had a .704 slugging percentage and .462 on base percentage. He totaled 63 hits, 15 doubles, 12 walks, nine home runs and a triple with eight stolen bases and 63 RBI. He had 22 multi-hit games with eight three-hit games and two four-hit performances. He ranked 39
th in the nation with 107 total bases.
Drew Buss, a junior right-handed pitcher from Joliet, Ill., led the Blue Devils with a 5-2 record in eight starts. He pitched 46.1 innings with a ERA of 5.44 and a WHIP of 1.51, striking out 44. He threw a complete game four-hit win over UW-Eau Claire.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
