MENOMONIE – The UW-Stout Blue Devils split a pair of seven-inning non-conference games with Northland College in their home finale at Nelson Field Wednesday afternoon.
GAME ONE
Riley Boushack,
Jake Thomas and
Jacoby Endreas all hit three home runs in a 4-1 win in game one.
Northland led of the game with a single to center but was quickly erased as the next batter hit into an around-the-horn double play and
Nathan Weckop froze the next batter for his first of seven strikeouts on the afternoon. The Lumberjacks led off the second inning with a homer to right center to take an early 1-0 lead.
Riley Boushack tied the game in the third with a two-out homer to right, his sixth of the season.
Northland got runners on second and third in both the fourth and fifth innings, but the Blue Devils were able to get out of both innings to remain tied at one.
Jake Thomas hit his first career homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning, a two-out shot to left center to give the Blue Devils a 2-1 lead.
Jacoby Endreas added insurance runs for Stout in the Bottom of the sixth inning with a no doubter to straight away center to extend the lead to 4-1.
Tim Kohls came in to pitch the seventh and struck out the side for his fifth save of the year. Weckop struck out seven and scattered six hits over six innings for the win.
Jack Redwine was 3-3 and Boushack had two hits.
GAME TWO
Late runs lifted Northland to a 7-5 win over the Blue Devils in game two.
Justin Sedin gave Stout an early 1-0 lead with a two-out homer to left in the bottom of the first inning. The lead was short-lived as Northland led off the second inning with a solo homer to center. The Lumberjacks took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on an RBI single to center. Stout took the lead in the bottom half of the inning when
Drew Ries hit a three-run homer to left to give Stout a 4-2 advantage. Northland retook the lead in the top of the fifth with a three-run homer. Stout got two aboard in the bottom of the fifth but couldn't push a run across. The Lumberjack extended the lead to 7-5 in the sixth with a pair of two-out RBI singles. Stout loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but could only score one run off of a wild pitch to fall 7-5.

The Blue Devils will travel to Arden Hills, Minn. for a doubleheader against Bethel University on Saturday, May 4. First pitch from Hargis Park is set for 1 p.m.
