EAU CLAIRE – The Blue Devils picked up their 20
th win of the season and improved to 4-2 in WIAC play with a doubleheader split at UW-Eau Claire. Stout dropped game one 8-3 and won 4-3 in game two at Bollinger Field.
GAME ONE
A four-run sixth inning lifted Eau Claire to a 8-3 win in the series opener. Stout struck first in the top of the first.
Alyssa Albrecht doubled to center field and
Payton Dolecki followed with a single to right center to give the Blue Devils an early 1-0 lead. Eau Claire took the lead in the second, scoring three runs thanks in part to two walks and two errors to take a 3-1 lead.
Donna D'Addabbo drove in a run in the third to draw the Blue Devils within one,
Alyssa Albrecht doubled in the left center in the fourth to score
Katelyn Belleau to tie the game at three. UWEC took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out error and added four more in the sixth to go on to win 8-3.
Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched 5.2 innings and allowed just one earned run in the loss. Albrecht was 3-4 with two runs scored.
GAME TWO
Stout responded with a 4-3 win in game two. The Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first,
Donna D'Addabbo singled through the left side to drive in the game's first run. UWEC tied the game in the bottom of the inning.
Alexa Anderson gave Stout the lead back in the third on two-out single through the right side. UWEC scored two in the bottom half of the inning to take their first lead at 3-2. Albrecht singled home a run the fourth to knot the game up at three. Stout took the lead in the sixth when Albrecht picked up her second hit and RBI of the game to score the go-ahead run.
Maddie Lambert pitched three and third hitless innings in relief to pick up the win and
Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched the seventh to earn the save.

The Blue Devils will return home for a non-conference game with Crown College on Wednesday, April 24. First pitch from Alumni Field is set for 4 p.m.
