MENOMONIE - The Blue Devil baseball team dropped both games of a home doubleheader to No. 24 UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon at Nelson Field.
GAME 1
UW-Stevens Point scored in each of the first five innings to take game one 13-6. The Pointers scored three in the first, one in the second and third, added a pair in the fourth and put up a six-spot in the sixth to take a 13-0 lead. Stout scored a pair in the bottom of the fifth, Leyton Bowers and
Nolan Harke led off with singles.
Justin Schnell reached on a throwing error by the pitcher, which allowed Bowers to score. Jake Redwine reached on an infield single to short to drive in
Harke.
Harke led off the seventh with a walk and came around to score on an RBI single from
Riley Boushack.
Jack Schirpke hit a double to left center to score two to make the score 13-5.
Jacoby Endreas hit a solo shot to center in the eighth for his WIAC leading ninth round tripper of the year.
Harke was 2-3 with two runs scored.
GAME 2
A five-run fourth inning gave the Pointers a 6-1 lead. The cushion was all
UWSP needed as they held the Blue Devils to just four hits. Stouts runs came in the bottom of the second when Leyton Bowers raced home on a wild pitch on ball four to
Riley Boushack. Boushack scored again the seventh on a single to left center from
Justin Sedin. Sedin had all of the Blue Devils hits, going 4-4.

The Blue Devils will host the Pointers tomorrow, April 14 for a doubleheader to close out their four-game series. First pitch of game one is set for 12 p.m. on Nelson Field.
