MENOMONIE - This week in Blue Devils Esports:
University of Wisconsin Stout Blue Devils Esports are all in full swing for the season. Both Overwatch teams along with Super Smash Bros. are competing in NACE, and both Valorant team competing in NACE and WVAL. Rocket League is also competing in NACE along with WCRL!
Valorant:
NACE Varsity Premier (5-0)
2-1 Win vs St. Ambrose University (13-5, 14-16, 13-6)
Undefeated up to this point so far in the season, the Blue Devils Varsity Valorant team takes on St. Ambrose University in week five. Stout played a strong first half on map one, taking an early 7-3 lead.
JJ Hanson and
Nathan Lenz led the way to a Blue Devils win, 13-5. In the second map, the Blue Devils continued to dominate SAU in the early game taking a 6-1 lead. SAU fought back to keep the map close and ended up winning the overtime matchup 14-16. In the final map of the series, both teams went back and forth in the early rounds before the Blue Devils caught some momentum and were able to win the last few rounds in a row to win, 13-6.
Wisconsin Valorant Champions Division (3-0)
2-0 Win vs UW-Milwaukee Black (13-3, 13-4)
Overwatch:
NACE Varsity Premier: (3-2)
1-3 Loss Vs Lindenwood University (0-2, 4-3, 2-3, 0-2)
The Blue Devils Varsity Overwatch team faced off against Lindenwood University in week five of NACE Varsity Premier. Lindenwood and Stout matched up in Fall 2023 where the Blue Devils fell 1-3. In the first game of the series, the battle was close, and the result could have gone both ways, but Lindenwood came out on top 0-2. Map two was another close map that went into overtime and this time it was the Blue Devils that won to even the series. The series was full of very close maps, and the third map was no different, both teams traded points before the final battle where Lindenwood came out on top 2-3. Lindenwood dominated the Blue Devils on the final Push map taking the series, 1-3.

3-2 Win vs UW-Madison "Bucky Badgers" (3-0, 0-1, 3-1, 2-4, 5-4)
Valorant Academy:

Wisconsin Valorant Challengers Division (2-1)
2-0 Win vs MSOE Roscoe (13-9, 13-3)
In their third Wisconsin Valorant match of the year, the Valorant Academy team played against Milwaukee School of Engineering. New Freshman
Seth Shaw delivered a great performance in his debut alongside
Dustin Anderson IGL (In Game Leader) to win game one, 13-9. Shaw led the way for Stout once again in map two where the Blue Devils won, 13-3.
Overwatch Academy:
NACE Open Plus: (3-1)
3-0 Win vs Gustavus University (2-0, 1-0, 3-0)
The Overwatch Academy started strong against Gustavus and got out to an early lead in map one. The Blue Devils held on to a strong 2-0 win in map one. The Blue Devils also stormed through map two earning a 2-game lead in the series. The Overwatch Academy earned their first real win of the season after a clean 3-0 sweep in the last map and the series.
