George Scharlau to top UW-La Crosse 74-68 Wednesday night. The game featured nine lead changes and six ties.
Jacob Walczak hit a three with 26 seconds left to put Stout up 70-68 and Brandan Weis hit four straight free throws in the final 10 seconds to seal the win for Stout. Stout led for most of the first half, but couldn't build a lead bigger than six points. Scharlau hit a trey with 12 seconds left in the half to put Stout up 36-34 at the break. Stout opened the second half and extended the lead to eight, La Crosse rallied to get within one, Stout was able to push it back to six a couple of possessions later. The Eagles then went on a run to take a three point lead with 4:33 left in regulation. UWL led by three with 90 seconds left to play before Stout closed on a 9-0 run
