Blue Devils Take Care of UW-Superior

The Blue Devils started the contest with a 20-2 run, and they never looked back, comfortably dispatching the Yellowjackets 74-61. The Blue Devils had nine different players score in just the first half. Stout shot an impressive 59% from the field to propel them to a 44-22 lead going into the half. On the defensive side, the Blue Devils didn't give up anything easy, holding UW-Superior to just 22 points in the first half on 34% shooting from the field.
 
UW-Superior stormed back in the second half, cutting the lead down to just seven points with three minutes to go. The comeback was led by Elise Besonen of the Yellowjackets, who scored 29 points for Superior, including shooting 7/9 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils were able to weather the storm and pull away in the last few minutes to secure a thirteen-point victory.  


Top Performers

• Amanda Giesen led all Blue Devils in scoring with 18 points.
• Mary Berg added 11 points on 4/7 shooting. She added three steals defensively.
• Raegan Sorensen enjoyed her return to the court, scoring 11 points in just 7 minutes of play, shooting a perfect 100% from the field.

• The Blue Devils dominated the paint, scoring 44 points down low compared to just 20 for Superior.
• The Blue Devils showed off their depth, as the bench contributed 38 points.
