Masternak, Blue Devils Blank Hamline 5-0

MENOMONIE - The Blue Devils rolled to a 5-0 win over Hamline University Saturday night at Fanetti Community Center.

Nicholas Stevens scored two goals, Kullan Daikawa had a goal and two assists and Tyler Masternak made 18 saves to keep the Blue Devils perfect in the 2024-25 season.

Stevens scored just a1:04 into the game. His second of the year, with assists to Daikawa and Maksis Brimanis. Daikawa and Stevens connected again with 1:50 left in the period to give Stout a 2-0 lead. The Blue Devils outshot the Pipers 10-3 in the opening 20 minutes.

Hayden Stocks scored his second goal of the season 94 seconds into the second period on a snipe from the right circle. Nicolas Pigeon and Gunner Moore picked up the assists.

Stout was able to cash in on the man advantage, Pigeon scored his league leading third goal of the season, a power play tally from Noe Perez at 5:53 to put Stout ahead 4-0.

Midway through the third, Diakawa skated nearly the length of the ice, dancing through defenders and sliding the puck past a sprawling Piper goalkeeper to cap the scoring.
Masternak continued his hot start to the season, earning his second shutout of 2024, making 18 saves to blank the Pipers.
 
 
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils will travel to Blaine, Minn. next Friday, Nov. 15 to play Bethel University. Puck drop from the Bethel University Arena at the National Sports Center is set for 7 p.m.
