BLAINE, Minn. – UW-Stout fell for the first time in 2024, dropping a 5-3 decision to Bethel University Friday night at the National Sports Center.
Bethel scored early in the third and added an empty net goal to escape with a 5-3 win.

Jacob Halvorson all alone on the left side of the crease to tap in his first goal of the season.
Stout had an early 5-3 power play for 1:13 but couldn't put one past the Bethel netminder. Later, Bethel had their own 5-3, The Royals scored one and added another just three seconds after the last penalty expired to take a 3-1 midway through the second. Just over two minutes later,
Nicolas Pigeon scored his fourth goal of the season on the power play to pull Stout within one. With 3:18 left in the period,
Evan Vanden Heuvel scored his first of the year to tie the game.
Bethel then opened the third with a goal 1:25 in. Stout had good chances but couldn't find the equalizer.
