Marian Defeats Blue Devils at the Merrill Thompson Classic

The Blue Devils fell 78-67 to Marian University (2-0) Saturday afternoon to conclude the UW-Superior Merrill Thompson Classic. Jacob Walczak scored the first five points of the contest to jump start the Blue Devils to a quick 5-0 lead. Colin Hudson made a lay-up with 9:35 to go in the first half to take a 17-15 lead, and that is the last lead Stout would hold in the game. The Sabres would end the first half on a 10-2 run to make the score 40-32 at the intermission.  Stout score the first 5 points of the second half to cut the lead to three, but that was as close as the score got, as Marian pulled away in the second half, resulting in a 78-67 final score.

• Jackson Wilhelmson led Blue Devil scorers with 20 points on 7/11 shooting, and going 6/9 from beyond the arc.
• Jacob Walczak scored 15 points and four rebounds
• Aiden Shore had a great game defensively with 4 blocks
