The Blue Devils fell 90-70 to Hamline University (2-0) Wednesday in Stout's home opener. The Pipers got off to a quick start, jumping out to a quick 9-2 lead just two minutes into the game. Hamline would extend the lead to 17-4 and maintain a double-digit lead throughout the first half, until
Jacob Walczak finished the half with two free-throws to give the Blue Devils momentum going into halftime, trailing just 42-33. In the second half, Stout was able to cut the Hamline lead down to 8 with 12:38 to go in the game, but that was as close as the game got, as Hamline pulled away to secure a 90-70 win in Johnson Fieldhouse.
