Blue Devils Open Season with 73-41 Win Over Calvin

The Blue Devils led throughout to open the 2024-25 season with a resounding 73-41 win over Calvin. The Knights, who were receiving votes in the preseason WBCA Coaches Poll, were quickly overwhelmed by the defending WIAC Tournament Champions. Stout shot over 70 percent from the field in the first quarter and scored 17-straight points to take a 19-2 lead en route to a dominant 34-8 lead. Stout forced nine turnovers and was 6-8 from 3-point range in the opening ten minutes. Overall, Stout shot 45. 8 percent from the floor and was 9-24 from distance with four players scoring in double figures. The Blue Devils scored 32 points off of turnovers and held Calvin to just 1-15 from beyond the arc.

Top Performers

• Lexi Wagner had a game-high 19 points. She was 7-10 from the floor and 4-5 from beyond the arc.
• Raegan Sorensen was 8-13 from the floor for 17 points. She added five steals, four rebounds and a block
• Freshman Mary Berg scored 10 points in her debut and pulled down five rebounds.

Inside the Box Score  

• Amanda Giesen scored 10 points and now has 1001 career points. She is the 15^th Blue Devils to join the 1000-point club.
