Menomonie, WI - The Blue Devils Esports teams have been very busy this fall with in-state and national competitions. Some teams competed in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and the Wisconsin Esports Conference (WEC) during the Fall 2024 seasons.
Valorant: 
The State Championship winning Valorant team from the Spring 2024 season returned for another season this fall. The Varsity Valorant team competed in NACE and the WEC during this season.
NACE: 4-3
WEC: 12-2
The Blue Devils did not qualify for the postseason in NACE. However, they did get second place at the WEC Northwest Regional LAN on November 17th losing to UW-River Falls in a five map thrilling series.
Following the loss to River Falls, the Blue Devils got one more chance to qualify for the WEC State Championship LAN in December. They defeated Northcentral Technical College to punch their ticket to the State Championship on December 7th and 8th at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Players Hoang Dang and Nathan Lenz received 2nd team all conference awards for their performances in Division 1 this season!

Super Smash Bros:
Super Smash Bros had a bit of a rebuild season with new coaching approaches and some fresh faces on the roster. The Smash team competed in NACE this Fall season.
NACE: 3-4
The Blue Devils did not qualify for NACE postseason but are gearing up for their WEC season in the Spring semester.

Overwatch: 
The Varsity Overwatch team competed in NACE as well as a regional tournament called Midwest Madness.
NACE: 2-5
Midwest Madness: 5-5
The team did not qualify for NACE postseason, but did qualify for the Midwest Madness LAN event in Mankato, Minnesota. The Blue Devils finished in the top 8 overall to qualify to compete in person for the championship. Eventually falling to Nebraska and Ohio State, the Blue Devils took 5th place overall out of all teams.

Rocket League:
The Blue Devils Varsity Rocket League team also competed in WEC Division 1 along with CRL Open qualifier weekends where schools from around North America all compete in a tournament.
WEC: 9-4
CRL Opens: Two - Top 48 finishes (400+ teams usually attend)
The Varsity Rocket League team has already qualified for the WEC State Championship after defeating UW-Eau Claire at the Northwest Regional LAN on November 17th. The Blue Devils have secured the #1 overall seed for the State Championship on December 7th and 8th at Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

Valorant Academy:
Our academy program for Valorant also competed in WEC Division 1 this season.
WEC: 8-5
The Valorant Academy team showed some serious strength in Division 1 of the WEC this season. A team of mostly freshmen and sophomores, competing in the toughest region of Wisconsin. The team had a winning record but could only secure 3rd place at the NW Regional LAN behind the Stout Varsity team and UW-River Falls, ending their hopes of State Qualification. Kilian Wilinski received a spot on second team all conference for Division 1 in the WEC.

Rocket League Academy:
Blue Devils Rocket League Academy team was thrust into Division 1 of the WEC, but they were poised to take on the challenge of the toughest teams in Wisconsin.
WEC: 7-6
The academy team got off to a slow start in the season but finished the regular season winning four consecutive games to secure a winning record for the season. They knocked out UW-River Falls before losing to Stout's Varsity Rocket League team at the NW Regional LAN on November 17th.

Overwatch Academy:
The Overwatch Academy team competed in Playfly Open Division as they gear up for the Spring WEC season.
Playfly: 0-7
The Blue Devils got placed into an extremely challenging division meaning they had to face much better competition every week. They spent the season hunting for their first win but will look to the spring season to get back on track.
