WINONA, Minn. – The Blue Devil women's soccer team fell 2-1 in a non-conference road match against Saint Mary's University.
The Blue Devils (0-8-2) scored in early in the second half but couldn't find the equalizer late in a 2-1 loss to Saint Mary's (6-2-3) Wednesday nights.
SMU struck first in the 32
nd minute, The Cardinals Hannah Bradley fired a shot just inside the 18 to the left side of the net to give SMU a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals doubled the lead in the 53
rd minute on a penalty shot that just got past Stout goalkeeper
Kristen Silenzi.
Just over a minute later
Calli Heinzerling scored her first career goal to pull the Blue Devils within one.
Anna Odisho passed a nice ball from the right side of the 18 box to Heinzerling who buried her shot to the left side of the goal.
Silenzi made three saves in her 53 minutes on the pitch,
Claire Olson saw 37 minutes of action, making a save. SMU totaled 10 shots with six on target. Stout had two shots on goal.

The Blue Devils return home on Saturday. Oct. 12 when they host UW-Oshkosh. The match is set to start at 6 p.m. on Nelson Field.
