The Blue Devils rolled to a four-set win over Carroll University Saturday morning. Stout wasted no time, jumping out to a 16-1 lead, that included a 12-0 run. Stout led by as much as 15 at 20-5, before cruising to a 25-14 set one victory.
Brooke McCune had seven of her 25 kills and the Blue Devils forced Carroll into 10 attacking errors. Stout took an 8-3 lead early in the second set, Carroll rallied to tie the set at 10. The teams traded points, before Carroll took a three-point edge at 18-15 and 22-19. But Stout closed on a 6-1 to take a 2-0 lead at 25-23. The third set saw nine ties and three lead changes with Carroll scoring four of the final six points to force a fourth set with 25-23 win. Stout held a four-point advantage for much of the fourth set until the Pioneers rallied to tie at 18. But three kills from
Brynn Hessel stopped the Carroll rally and gave set the win at 25-20.
