The Blue Devils picked up their second WIAC win of the season with a five-set decision over River Falls Wednesday night. Stout took control of a tight first set midway through to build a five-point lead at 19-14. Stout ended the set on a
Stephanie Petrbok ace to win 25-20. Tied at seven in the second set, River Falls took a three-point lead, Stout as able to rally and tie the set at 13 only to see the Falcons take a four-point advantage. Again Stout rallied to the set at 22, but UWRF closed on a 3-0 run to tie the match at a set apiece. In the third, Stout built a 20-15 advantage and withstood a Falcon rally to win 26-24. River withstood a late Stout rally in the fourth to win 25-22 and force the deciding fifth set. The fifth set went back and fourth to start. Tied at eight, Stout went on a 6-1 run to take a 14-11 lead and
Brooke McCune's 22
nd kill of the game gave the match to Stout 15-12.
