Fox Scores 30 in Blue Devils 85-54 Romp Over Oshkosh

MENOMONIE - Brody Fox scored 30 points to lead UW-Stout (9-10, 4-4) to a 85-54 win over UW-Oshkosh (9-10, 2-6) Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Fieldhouse

Fox, who currently leads all levels of college basketball with 27.8 points a game, scored 30 points for the fourth time in his last five games. He was 12-22 from the floor and added two rebounds and steals.

Jacob Walczak was 5-7 or 13 points and three rebounds. George Scharlau was all over the court with nine points, nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals. 

The game was even for most of the first half, with never team leading by more than four points. Fox hit an And-1 jumper with 6:22 left to give Stout a one point lead. Stout took over from there, using the three-point play to jump start a 21-4 run to close to close the half and take a 15-point advantage into the locker room. 

Oshkosh tried to cut into the Stout lead early in the second but couldn't get any closer at 11 points as Stout responded with a 12-3 to give the Blue Devils a 20-point lead to put the game away with 11 minutes to play. Stout would go on to lead by as much as 33 as they cruised down the stretch to sweep the season series for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

• The 31-point win is the blue Devils largest WIAC win since Nov. 30,2004 when they beat River Falls 83-43.
• The 54 points allowed are the fewest Stout has given up since Jan. 17, 2018 when they held Eau Claire 51. 
• Stout had 21 assists on 34 made shots.
• The Blue Devils were 34-68 from the field. 
• Stout only committed five turnovers and forced 15 from Oshkosh.
