Blue Devils Skate Past Northland 4-1

MENOMONIE - The Blue Devils defeated Northland College 4-1 Friday night at Fannetti Community Center.

UW-Stout (6-10-2, 4-4-0) got three goals in the second period to snap a five game winless streak to win their 15th straight over Northland College (1-17-0, 0-8-8).

Brendan Boyce scored his second of the year late in the first period on a shot from the left point that found its way to the back of the net through traffic.

Stout doubled the lead on the power play in the second. At 9:53 Kullan Daikawa tallied his seventh of the season on a feed from Noe Perez. Goaltender Dawson Green picked up his first career assist on the play.

A 1:46 later Brandon Connett scored his third of the year from Peyton Hart and Tyler Sanborn.

At 17:26 of the second Evan Vanden Hueval took advantage of a fortunate bounce to score his first collegiate goal.

Daikawa and Connett each had a goal and assist and Green made 24 saves to earn his fourth win of the season.

The Blue Devils will face Northland again tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 20.  Puck drop from Fanetti Community Center is set for 7 p.m.
