RIVER FALLS - For the second straight match the Blue Devil volleyball team fell behind 0-2 before rallying to force a deciding set and falling in the fifth. As Stout dropped a five set match to host UW-River Falls 2-3

Record: Blue Devils (11-2. 0-2), Falcons (12-4, 1-1)

The teams traded points early in the first set, tied at seven Stout took leads on 7-10, 11-10 and 13-11. but River Falls responded each time and closed on a 7-2 run to take the first 25-22. The Blue Devils couldn't get anything going int he second, quickly falling behind 10-1. The Falcons went to take the set 25-12. Stout regrouped in the third and a 10-0 run early gave the Blue devils a 17-5 lead. Stout would go to crush the Falcons 25-10 and force a fourth set. Stout led 15-9 but let the Falcons climb back and trail by one at 19-18. Stout would hold off UWRF to win 25-22 and force a deciding set. Tied at four in the fifth, UWRF jumped out to a 9-5 lead, Stout rallied to get withing two at 11-9, but UWRF slammed the door on a Blue Devil comeback, holding on to win 15-9 and secure the upset win.
