GRINNELL, Iowa. - The Blue Devils improved to 4-0 with a pair of 3-0 sweeps on the second day of the Central College/Grinnell College Invitational. For the first time since 2002 Stout has started the season with four straight 3-0 sweeps.

The Blue Devils won a evenly played match against host Grinnell College. Neither team held more than a two point advantage during the first set
Sidney Hoverman had three kills to end the first set for the Blue Devils. The second set started close going back and forth until the Blue Devils closed on an 8-2 run to win 25-18. Grinnel jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the third set but the Blue Devils were able to rally and tie the set at 11 and eventually take a 14-11 lead. Stout jumped out to a 6-1 lead and increased it to 14-5 to go on to win the first set 25-18. The second set started closer but the Blue Devils out raced the Scots to the finish line with a 13-6 run to take set two 25-18. The third set was tied at 13 before four straight points gave the Blue Devils the 17-13 advantage. The edge was all Stout needed as the held on to take the match 25-20.
