LA CROSSE, WIs. - The UW-Stout women's soccer team battled Viterbo to a 2-2 draw Wednesday afternoon.
The Blue Devils were just over a minute away from victory when Viterbo scored and Stout had to settle for the 2-2 draw.
The Blue Devils struck first in the sixth minute.
Lauren Boyd found the back of the net and Stout grabbed the early lead.
Melanie Wallisch picked up the assist. Viterbo drew even in the 18th minute and the teams stayed tied at one at the half.
Claire Olson played the first half in net for the Blue Devils and made four saves. Viterbo had nine shots in the half with five on target.
Sami Moseng scored from the top of the box in the 65th minute for the Blue Devils to regain the lead.
Lauren Chukel and
Kate Holst picked up the assists. Stout was sixty-nine seconds away from earning the road win when Viterbo scored to draw even and steal victory away from the Blue Devils in the last minute.
Kristen Silenzi made three saves in the second half in net for Stout.. Viterbo had seven attempted with four on target. Viterbo played two netminders and they combined to make three total saves.

The Blue Devils will be back in action this Saturday, Sept. 16, when they travel to Decorah, Iowa to face Luther College. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
