AUSTIN, Texas – University of Wisconsin-Stout's
Jacob Halvorson was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Men's Division III At-Large teams as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Halvorson was selected to the third-team.
Halvorson, a junior forward from Lonsdale, Minn., is an applied mathematics and computer science major and graduated this spring with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. This past season, Halvorson played in all 29 games recording career-high 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points. He had seven multi point games with six power play goals.
In 2022-23 Halvorson helped the Blue Devils go 17-11-1 and advance to the WIAC semifinals for the first time since the 2015-16 season. The 17 wins were the most since 2008-09 and the fourth most in program history.
Halvorson will return next season as a graduate student to compete in his fourth season on the ice with the Blue Devils
Of the 47 student-athletes on the Division III at-large teams, 21 finished with a 4.00 cumulative GPA. The 16 first team members had a cumulative 3.96 GPA.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.
