MENOMONIE - The UW-Stout swept a home doubleheader over UW-Superior Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field. Winning game one 1-0 and game two 11-10 in extra innings.
GAME ONE
Megan Murphy hit an RBI double and
Anna Blanford shut door as the Blue Devils defeated UW-Superior 1-0 in game one.
Kaylee Peterson led off the fourth inning with a single to left field and moved to second on a wild pitch. Megan Murphy then drilled a RBI double to left center to give Stout the 1-0 lead.
Anna Blanford then shut the door on the Yellowjackets, allowing just one baserunner over the next three innings. Blanford allowed just four hits in the complete game shutout.

GAME TWO
Riley Kious worked a a walk-off bases loaded walk to lift Stout to a 11-10 nine inning win in game two. Stout took an early lead, the first four batter all singled and
Maggie O'Brien followed up with a grand slam, her first career home run., to give Stout a 5-0 lead after one. The first three batters reached safely for the Blue Devils in the third before
Donna D'Addabbo hit an RBI single to give Stout a 6-0 lead,
Alexa Anderson followed with a RBI single to right center.
Kelly Beck drove in Stout's third run of the inning and Stout led 8-0 after three. Superio trailed 9-0 heading into the fifth. and were down to their final out but got a two run hit to extend the game and trail 9-3. Superior trailed 10-4 in the seventh, but the first eight batter reached safely on three walks, two hits and two hit batters to tie the game at 10. After scoreless eighth, D'Addabbo open the ninth with a single and advanced on a sac bunt.
Payton Dolecki hit a pinch hit single Kelly beck walked and Kious followed the the RBI walk to give the Blue Devils the win Blandofr pitched three innings in relief to pick up the win allowing just one hit.
Maggie O'Brien and D'Addobbo each had three hits, Kupczak, Beck, and Kious each had multi hit game.

The Blue Devils wil close out the 2023 regular season on Saturday, May 6 when they host UW-Stevens Point with a spot on in the WIAC Tournament on the line. First pitch from Alumni Field is set for 5 p.m.
