MENOMONIE - The UW-Stout softball team dropped the final two games of the season Sunday at Alumni Field. Falling 14-0 in six innings and 6-4 in 10 innings to UW-Stevens Point.
GAME ONE
Stout mustered just two hits in a 14-0 six inning loss in game one. Stevens Point scored four in the third and seven in the sixth and had 14 hits to run away with the big win.
Katelyn Belleau and
Grace Vowell had the hits for Stout.
GAME TWO
The Blue Devils fell 6-2 in 10 innings.
Maggie O'Brien hit and RBI single in the first to give Stout the early 1-0 lead. UWSP responded in the top of the second tying the game with a sac fly. Stout retook the lead when
Kaylee Peterson drove in a run with an infield single in the fifth. But once again UWSPÂ tied the game up in the top of the next inning, this time with an RBi ground out. The Pointers scored four in the top of the tenth to get the win.
Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched 9.1 innings and allowed just five hits in the loss.
Kaylee Peterson was 2-4 with a walk and
Kayli Pfeffer was 2-5.Â
