Box Score 2 MENOMONIE - The UW-Stout softball team dropped both games of a home doubleheader No. 23 UW-Whitewater falling 3-0 in game one and 3-1 in eight innings in game two.
GAME 1
The Blue Devils lost 3-0 in game one. Stout had three hits and stuck out 11 times in the shutout loss. UWW got on the board in the first inning and added two more in the fourth.
Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched seven innings allowed just four hits and struck out six in the loss.
GAME 2
The Blue Devils lost 3-1 in extra innings in game two. Stout had a 1-0 lead heading into the seventh. But UWW got two two-out hits to tie the game and added two in the eighth to take the lead. Stout had chances in the seventh and the eighth for the walk-off but couldn't push the go-ahead or tying runs across. Stout got board in first in the bottom of third when Peyton Dolecki scored on a
Kayli Pfeffer sacrifice fly.
Anna Blanford took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and finished pitching 6.2 innings with three strike outs to pick up a no-decision.
Grace Vowell and
Payton Dolecki had two hits a piece and
Katelyn Belleau had two stolen bases.
The Blue Devils will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday April 30 when they host No. 20 UW-Oshkosh. First pitch from Alumni Field is set for 12 p.m.
