BLOOMINGTON, ILL. - UW-Stout Blue Devil softball dropped a pair of games at the IWU Invite Sunday morning. The Blue Devils fell 5-0 to host Illinois Wesleyan and 7-6 to Wartburg.
GAME 1
The Blue Devils lost 8-0 in five innings to host Illinois Wesleyan. Stout managed just four hits the in the shutout loss. IWU scored three in the third, two in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
GAME 2
The Blue Devil comeback fell just short in the bottom of the seventh in a 7-6 loss to Wartburg College. Trailing 7-1 in the bottom of the sixth,
Kayli Pfeffer worked a walk and exy Kupczak followed with a two-run blast to right.
Alyssa Albrecht hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh to bring the score to 7-4. The next two batters reached base and Pfeffer brought the score to 7-5 with a RBI single. With the bases loaded
Mackensie Wolterstorff hit a RBI infield single to cut the deficit to one. But the Blue Devils couldn't push the tying run across and fell 7-6. Kupzcak and Pfeffer wach had two hits and two RBI. Wolterstorff struck out five and gave up three hits in 5.2 innings pitched in relief.

The Blue Devils are set to host UW-Eau Claire on Friday, April 7. The double header is scheduled to start at 2 and 4 p.m.
