BLOOMINGTON, ILL. - Payton Dolecki hit two triples and
Mackensie Wolterstorff struck out eight to lead UW-Stout to a 3-2 win over DePauw Saturday afternoon.
Alyssa Albrecht led off the game with a home run to center field. Two batter atter Dolecki hit a triple to right field and later scored on a double steal to give Stout an early 2-0 lead. DePauw managed to get on teh board with a two-out single in the bottom of the fourth. The Blue Devils responded in the top of the fifth when Dolecki drove in
Donna D'Addabbo with her second triple of the afternoon. DePauw led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run to cut the lead to 3-2. But Wolterstorff and the Blue Devils shut the door, retiring the next six batters to secure the win.
Dolecki finished 2--4 with two triples a run scored and an RBI. Albrecht was 1-3 with a walk.
Emma Muehlenbeck was 2-3. Wolterstorff pitched all seven innings giving up two runs on five hits striking out eight to pick up the win.
The Blue Devils will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday April 2, morning with two more games. Stout will face host Illinois Wesleyan at 9 a.m. and Wartburg College at 11:15 a.m.
