WINTER HAVEN, FLA. - The Blue Devils split two games on the final day of the PFX Athletics College Spring Games in Florida Thursday. Defeating Salve Regina 8-7 on a walk-off single and falling 5-1 to No. 7 Case Western Reserve.
GAME 1
Meagan Murphy it a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Blue Devils to a 8-7 win over Salve Regina. Stout trailed 6-0 entering the bottom of the sixth. Stout rallied to score fivei n the bottom fo the sixth and
Kate Funk homered in teh bottom of the seventh to send the game to extras for Murphy to hit the walk-off winner.
Trailing by six in the bottom of the sixth,
Kayli Pfeffer led off with a single,
Lexy Kupczak reached on a fielders choice and Pfeffer was safe on an error by the second baseman.
Kaylee Peterson drove in both runners with a single. She then scored after three straight walks.
Payton Dolecki got hit by a pitch to score another run and Pfeffer walked to bring the Blue Devils with one.
Kate Funk then led off the bottom of the seventh to tie the game.
Riley Kious was placed on second in the bottom of the eighth and was sacrificed over to third by
Alyssa Albrecht, Murphy then singled her home for the walk-off winner. Pfeffer went 2-3 with and RBI and a walk.
Mackensie Wolterstorff faced five batters, striking out three to pick up the win.
GAME 2
Stout managed two hits against seventh ranked Case Western Reserve, falling 5-1. Donnan D'Addabdo hit a RBI groundout in the top of the seventh to drive in the Blue Devils only run.
Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched six innings giving up two earned runs striking out three.
UP NEXT
Stout will be back in action on Friday March 24 when the travel to Mankato, Minn. to face Bethany Lutheran in a double header. The games are set to start at 7 and 9 p.m. in teh Maverick All-Sports Dome.
