Softball Splits Two Games in Florida

WINTER HAVEN, FLA. - The Blue Devils split two games on the third day of the PFX Athletics College Spring Games in Florida Tuesday. Stout fell 5-0 against Babson College and beat tRutgers-Camden 3-1.

GAME 1
Stout fell 5-0 to No. 20 Babson College. Stout managed just one hit and five total baserunners in the shutout loss. Babson scored int he top of the first and added two in teh third before taking on two insurance runs in the fifth and sixth inning. Mackensie Wolterstorff pitched seven innings giving up nine hits and four earned runs for the Blue Devils. 

GAME 2
Stout Payton Dolecki hit a two-run double and Anna Blanford pitched seven innings scattering five hits and striking out five as the Blue Devils defeated Rutgers Camden 3-1. After scoreless opening two innings, Katelyn Belleau started the third getting hit by a pitch and then stealing second, She advanced to third on a wild pitch. Alyssa Albrecht drew a walk and stole second, Dolecki drove them both in with a double to give stout the 2-0 lead. Stout would tack on a run in the fourth. Kate Funk started the inning with a strike out but reached first on a passed ball. Emma Muehlenbeck pinch ran and stole second and Donna D'Ddabbo moved her over to third on a ground out. Kaylee Peterson then hit a RBI single to give the Blue Devils a 3-0 lead. Rutgers answered in the bottom of the inning scoring on a two-out error to trim the lead to 3-1. Blanford and the Blue Devils then shut the door on Rutgers Camden only allowing one base runner to reach over the next three innings to secure the win. 


UP NEXT
Stout will be back in action in Thursday, Mach 16 when they face St. Norbert College at 1 p.m. followed by a 3:30 p.m. game against Kalamazoo College.
