The Blue Devils fell 83-71 in the 2023-24 season opener to No. 15 Mary Hardin Baylor (1-0) Friday night at the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational. Stout jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead. UMHB responded at tied the game at eight. UMHB went on a 9-2 run and led 17-10 midway through the first half. They extended the lead to 13 with two minutes to play. Stout was ab to cut the lead to seven thanks to a Carson Hoffman three-pointer just before half. Stout cut the lead to as little as six with 16 minutes left in the second half. but couldn't get any closer as UMHB pulled away in the final six minutes.
Top Performers
- Brody Fox led all scorers with 29 points on 13-19 shooting. He added six rebounds.
- Aidan Shore scored 14 points, seven rebounds, four blocks, three assists and two steals,
- Josiah Johnson led the UMHB with 22 points.
