MENOMONIE - The Blue Devils fell in a five set thriller to the 17th ranked UW-Stevens Point Pointers Wednesday Night.

The Blue Devils started quick, holding leads of 8-4, 10-6 and 15-9. They maintained the lead, keeping the Pointers at arms length leading 21-16 and 24-19 be fore closing out set with a 25-21 win. UWSP went on a run midway through the second jumping out to a 14-7 lead. They lead 18-10 before closing 7-4 to take the set 25-14. The third set was tied at seven before the Blue Devils went on an impressive run closing on a 18-4 run to dominate the third set. The fourth was tied at five before five straight Points gave the Pointers all the cushion they need. they closed with another 25-14 win to force a fifth. Stout led 5-1 in the decisive set. UWSP rallied to tie the set at eight and went on to lead 11-9. Stout then rallied to tie at 11 but fell behing 13-11. Stout got with one twice, but fell 15-13.
