Blue Devils wrap up weekend invitational in Texas

Berry College 3, UW-Stout 0 | Edgewood College 3, UW-Stout 1

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 3, 2022) - Jessica Barr and Sidney Hoverman combined for 27 kills, but UW-Stout concluded their four games at the Trinity (Texas) University Tournament Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Edgewood College.

Barr put down 10 kills against the Eagles and had a solo block and six block assists, while Hoverman collected a season-high 17 kills and had three assisted blocks. 

Edgewood won the first set, 25-15, but Stout (0-4) came back to even the match with a 25-21 second set win. Edgewood turned the score around in the third set, winning 25-21, before taking the match with a 25-17 win. 

As a team, Stout collected a solo block and season-high 16 block assists. Kennedy Barrett finished with three block assists and Anna Hansen added two.

The Blue Devils opened the day by playing sixth ranked Berry College, dropping the match, 25-13, 25-20, 25-19. Caroline Braun and Hoverman each had nine kills to lead Stout. 

Stout returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 7 when they travel to Hamline University for a 7 p.m. contest.
