MENOMONIE (September 25, 2022) – UW-Stout (1-7-1) gave up two second half goals as they fell to Macalester College (6-2-2) 2-0 Sunday afternoon.
Macalester scored two goals just over three minutes apart midway through the second half to down the Blue Devils on a blustery afternoon at Nelson Field.
Stout carried the momentum in the first half taking five shots and earning four corner kicks but were unable to get anything past the Scots netminder. The Blue Devils best chance came with a minute left in the half when
Kate Holst found herself behind the defense. She raced down the left side and her shot nearly found twine if not for a sprawling save by the Scots goalkeeper.
Macalester controlled the second half, possessing the ball for 57 percent of the time. The Scots took six shots and had seven corner kicks in the half and had an answer for the Blue Devils attacks.
