EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – UW-Stout swept Finlandia and defeated College of St. Benedict in four sets to play a perfect Schumacher Memorial Tournament and improve to 7-6 on the season.
The Blue Devils topped Finlandia 25-23, 24-14, 25-12 to open the day.
Sidney Hoverman had a .243 hitting percentage and a game-high 16 kills.
Kennedy Barrett had 36 assists and
Staci Meyer recorded 18 digs. Stout held Finlandia to just a .028 hitting percentage and 18 total kills. Stout had 41 assists on 44 kills while hitting .197 as a team.
Stout stayed perfect on the weekend by defeating College of St. Benedict (28-26, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20), breaking a seven game losing streak to the Blazers, stretching back to 2003.
Hoverman continued her dominant weekend recording a career-high 27 kills while hitting at a.368 clip and adding 14 digs. Her 27 single kills ties her for second-most in school history with
Lexie Nelson (2018) and Brooke Palmer (2000). Tori Feit (1999) and Jen Carter (1991) hold the school record with 28 kills in a single match.Â
Kennedy Barrett had 40 assists and 11 digs.
Staci Meyer had 23 digs and
Terrah Moshier added 11 digs for the Blue Devils.
Hoverman and Meyer were selected to the All-Tournament team.

Stout will travel to La Crosse to face UW-La Crosse in a conference game on Wednesday Sept. 21 before heading to Waverly, Iowa for three matches at the Wartburg Volleyball Invitational Sept. 23 and 24.
