Two second half Cobber goals decide outcome of game

MOORHEAD, Minn (September 10, 2022) - Concordia-Moorhead's Sophia Robinson scored twice in the second half and the Cobber defeated UW-Stout 2-0 Saturday in a non-conference contest.

The Blue Devils (1-3-1) were coming off a 3-1 win over St. Norbert earlier in the week, their highest goal totals this season, but Stout could not put a ball into the back of the net. 

Stout got two shots on net in the first half, both by Marissa Steele (Sr, Farmington, Minn), while holding the Cobbers (3-1-0) without a shot on net, and both teams came up empty.

Concordia scored when Robinson netted a shot in the 52nd minute. Robinson added her second goal of the game in the 84th minute.

Stout's Julia McNamar (Sr, Belleville) recorded five saves, all in the second half. The Cobbers' Kaitlin Pertich recorded four saves, two in each half.

Rachel Younker (Sr, Genoa, Ill) and Liv Winkler (So, Duluth, Minn) both put a shot on net in the second half.

Stout is off for most of the upcoming week, returning home to host Viterbo University, Friday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. and the College of St. Benedict, Sunday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
