STEVENS POINT (April 19, 2022) - Averaging a bit over 10 hits a game is going to win a lot of baseball games. That wasn't the case Tuesday as UW-Stout spread out 21 hits over a doubleheader, but could not take a win out of Stevens Point, falling to the Pointers twice.
The Blue Devils accounted for 21 hits and 11 runs on the day, but UW-Stevens had 26 hits and 27 total runs and the Pointers bested UW-Stout, 11-5, 16-6, Tuesday, at Zimmermann Field in Stevens Point.
Â
The Blue Devils (15-11, 10-6 WIAC) never held a lead at any point over the two games. The Pointers added a run in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 6-3 lead. Stout pulled to within two runs, 6-4, in the bottom of the fifth, but the Pointers scored five in the sixth inning.
