Rocket League comes back from 2-0 deficit to defeat Wisconsin, 3-2

MENOMONIE (April 15, 2022) - "It wasn't pretty, but we got it done," UW-Stout Rocket League coach Kyle Gabel said.

The Blue Devils got the job done, defeating the University of Wisconsin, 3-2, but had to climb all the way back from a 2-0 deficit against the Badgers, in what Gabel called a reverse sweep, topped off with the overtime victory. The win gave the Blue Devils the overall No. 1 seed heading into the Wisconsin Collegiate Rocket League (WCRL) tournament in Milwaukee, Saturday, April 30.

"After a shaky start losing the first two games, the boys regained and secured the win," Gabel said.

Alex Kotowski (brave), "known for his offensive masterclass," Gabel said, turned up his defensive play.

Kowtowski "was a brick wall on defense racking up 10 saves over the five games and five of them coming in Game 5," Gabel said.

UW-Stout Lineup
Alex Kotowski (brave) 3 goals, 4 assists, 10 saves, 13 shots; Alex Johnson (axel) 2-3-5-15; Joey Messina (messiah) 3-1-7-9
