Rocket League Spring Playoff Bracket
MENOMONIE (April 11, 2022) - The UW-Stout Rocket League team took on Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for Round 4 of the NACE spring playoffs, beating RIT in the Best-of-7 series, coming from behind for a 4-2 win in a Top 32 lower bracket game last Thursday.
The Blue Devils needed to overcome an early deficit with a shaky start after dropping the first game. The Blue Devils regrouped and took a very convincing 3-1 and 4-3 win for the next two games.
After another setback in losing the fourth game, Stout came back with a fury, winning both games five and six by identical 3-2 decisions.
The Blue Devils received a first round bye, then defeated NKU Varsity 4-2 April 6 in advancing to meet RIT.
The win Thursday put Stout in the top 16 teams for the Eastern Conference as Stout continued their lower bracket run. Stout lost to the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Gold in the next round, 4-1. The Blue Devils opened the tournament as the 33rd seed and faced off against top-seeded University of Minnesota (UMN) Gold, falling in the opener, 4-1.
