Rocket League takes win over MSOE, League of Legends falls to strong Illini team

MENOMONIE (March 3, 2022) - The UW-Stout Rocket League team swept past the Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-0, although Stout did need overtime in the opening game, Thursday, March 3, while the Blue Devil League of Legends squad dropped a 2-0 decision to the University of Illinois Illini Black Wednesday, March 2.

After winning the first game 2-1 in overtime, the the Blue Devils blew past the Raiders, 2-0, and 4-1, to cement their tie on the top of the Division in the the WCRL play. Stout is currently 3-0 in Wisconsin College Rocket League (WCRL) matches.

The Blue Devils put together a solid "team effort all around to get the job done as cleanly as possible:, said coach Kyle Gabel

Stout Rocket League returns to action, Monday, March 7 to face MVNU in the seventh round of NACE competition.

League of Legends give strong performance against strong opponent
Despite the 2-0 loss, Devin Steen (dewey) had a solid performance in game one on Ryze, said League coach Gavin Raph. Steen played well in game two, Raph said, "and was the beacon of hope on Akali throughout the game, but couldn't quite bring us to the win."

The coach was pleased with the team's overall play, saying the competition from the Illini was very strong.

"Overall a solid performance from the team," Raph said, "with the team being by far and away the strongest competition we have ran into so far in NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports)."
