Box Score Hamline 4, Stout 2
ST. PAUL, Minn (February 9, 2022) - UW-Stout scored the first two goals of the game, but Hamline came storming back to take the lead with four straight goals and defeated the Blue Devils, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon at Tria Rink. The non-conference game was originally scheduled for Jan. 8, but was postponed due to health and safety protocols.
Nick Bowlin got the Blue Devils (7-16-0) on the board first when he scored at 8:32 of the first period, his third goal of the season, on assists by
Cole Beckstead and
Matt Dahlseide. The Blue Devils doubled the score when
Hayden Clark scored his first goal of the season three minutes later at 11:46, with assists by
Riley Jensen and
Jacob Halvorson.
The Pipers (4-15-1) got on the board at 19:41 of the first period by Tyler Nyman. Hamline tied the score midway through the second when Brent Sheehan scored. The Pipers captured the lead just before the end of the second period on a goal by Jackson Wile and took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. Hamline picked up their fourth goal of the night at 3:40 in the third period by Sheehan.
The Pipers out-shot the Blue Devils, 29-16.
Tyler Masternak took the loss with 25 saves in his first game back since being injured Jan. 22. Kevin Lake had 14 saves for the Pipers.
Stout will close out the regular season when they travel to UW-Superior, Friday, Feb. 11 and host the Yellowjackets, Saturday, Feb. 12 for Senior Day.
