Pointers take final game in weekend series over Blue Devils

UW-Stevens Point 3, UW-Stout 0

STEVENS POINT (February 5, 2022) - UW-Stout kept UW-Stevens Point scoreless for half the game, but that would not be enough as the Blue Devils could not find the back of the net and the 11th ranked Pointers scored three goals in the final 30 minutes of the game for a 3-0 decision Saturday at KB Willett Arena.
 
Wilson Northey broke the deadlock at 10:14 of the second period for the Pointers and Conor Witherspoon added a goal seven minutes later at 17:12. Northey scored his second goal of the night at 3:34 of the third period.
 
Brennan Kitchen took the loss for the Blue Devils, turning away 33 shots. Eli Billing made 28 saves to get the win for the Pointers.
 
The Blue Devils will return to action Wednesday, Feb. 9 before for concluding regular season play with a weekend series with UW-Superior, traveling to Superior, Friday, Feb. 11 and hosting the Yellowjackets, Saturday, Feb. 12 for Senior Day.
