The Blue Devil Women open their season with a loss against Gustavas Adolphus, 72-53. The Gusties outscored Stout 20 to 4 in the first quarter to jump out to a quick 16-point lead to start the game.
Stout's only lead of the game came at the first basket, a free throw by
Amanda Giesen, to put them up 1-0. The Gusties would go on a 9-0 run before Stout saw the bottom of the net again, this time on an
Erin O'Brien free throw at 4:19 left in the first quarter. The Gusties offense kept making their shots and the defense wouldn't let Stout make theirs, finishing the first quarter with a 11-2 run.
The second quarter was a little closer but the Gusties built on their 16-point lead, outscoring the Blue Devils 19-16. The third quarter saw the Gusties biggest lead, taking a 26-point lead at the end of the third.
Stout was able to outscore the Gusties in the fourth quarter (19 to 14), but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

- Amanda Giesen finished with 13 points (5 for 11 FG, 1-4 3P) and Raegan Sorensen with 12 points (4 for 11 FG, 1-3 3P)
- Gusties had three players in double digits, Anna Sanders with 16, Kylie Baranick with 15, and Izzy Quick with 10.
- Sam Schaeffer and Anna Mutch lead the Blue Devils in the assist category with 4 and 3 respectively.
- Haylee Yaeger pulled down 7 rebounds for Stout. Gusties' Sanders and Kyle Baranick also had 7 rebounds.
