Two goals a minute apart late in the second period gave the Blue Devils the lead and them shut down the Yellowjackets to win their first WIAC game of the season. Trailing 1-0 after the first and being outshot in the second. Stout played great defensively and killed off a UWS power play, Bendan Boyce found
Matt Dahlseide on an outlet pass and Dahlseide skated down the right side and ripped a wrister past the Superior goalie to tie the game at a goal apiece at the 17:30 mark. Just 54 seconds later
Peyton Hart poked the puck under the goalies pads to give Stout the lead heading into the third. Stout carried the momentum in the final period, outshooting the Yellowjackets and playing stingy defense.
Maksis Brimanis tapped in a loose puck with 6:23 left in the game to give the Blue Devils a two-goal advantage.
Trenten Heyde then iced the game by scoring his first collegiate goal from just outside his own goal crease at 19:33. Tyler Masternack made 29 saves on 30 shots to improve to 4-0-0 on the season. The win moves the Blue Devils into a tied for third place in the WIAC standings after the first weekend of conference play. Â
