MENOMONIE (November 11, 2022) - The Blue Devils scored three goals in the second period to give them their fifth win of the season. UW-Stout (5-0-0) beat Lake Forest College (2-3-1) by the score of 5-2
It only took 1:03 for Stout to take the lead.
Dylan Rallis scored his third goal of the season on a two on one. The goal was assisted by
Kullan Daikawa as Stout took the early 1-0 lead.Â
The early lead for the Blue Devils didn't last long as Lake Forest scored a goal just 1:08 seconds after Stout's first goal. The Lake Forest goal was scored by Qaritaq Kusugak-Clark and assisted by Philip Quetell to tie the game.Â
The game saw its first power play when the Blue Devils took a penalty to give Lake Forest a power play chance. But Stout killed the penalty and skated even strength.Â
At 13:55 of the period, both teams took a penalty. No goals were scored during the four on four play.Â
The Foresters outshot the Blue Devils in the first period 17-9.
The Blue Devils scored early again in the period when
Jacob Halvorson scored his fourth goal of the season only 1:32 of the period. The goal was assisted by
Cole Beckstead to give Stout the lead again.Â
At 7:16 of the second period, Blue Devil's
Dylan Rallis scored his second goal of the night to make the game 3-1. The goal was assisted by
Kullan Daikawa and
Caleb Serre.Â
But only 1:17 after the Stout goal, the Foresters got one back when Matteas Derraugh scored to make it a one goal game.Â
Just under two minutes after the Lake Forest goal, Stout's
Matt Dahlseide scored his fourth goal of the game. Beckstead assisted on the goal to make the game 4-2.Â
After two periods, Lake Forest outshot the Blue Devils 31-16.Â
In the last period, the Foresters went on a power play at 6:40 of the period, but Stout killed off the penalty to skate even strength.Â
At 12:31 of the third period, both teams took a penalty and the game saw its second four on four play. But no goals were scored.Â
With just under four minutes left in the game, Lake Forest went on their third power play. This time taking their goalie off the ice to skate six on four. But at 16:37 of the period, Blue Devil's
Gunner Moore scored his first Blue Devil goal to end the game at 5-2. The Blue Devils killed off their third penalty of the game and is now 19-19 on the penalty kill.Â
Blue Devil's
Tyler Masternak recorded his third win of the year stopping 37 shots. Lake Forest's Carson Poulin stopped 15 Blue Devil shots.Â
