The Blue Devils continued their hot start to the season with a dominant 9-1 win over Concordia Saturday afternoon.
Peyton Hart scored a natural hat trick and
Matt Dahlseide and
Peter Verstegen each scored twice as the Blue Devils scored four times in both the second and third periods to improve to 2-0 on the season.Â
Dylan Rallis got things started in the first just under five minutes into the game on man advantage. Stout would out shoot the Falcons 10-5 in the period only led 1-0 after 20 minutes.Â
Stout really cranked up the offensive pressure in the second, putting 30 shots on net and scoring four times.
Peter Verstegen scored his first of the 2:37 into the period and
Matt Dahlseide scored just 69 seconds later to take a 3-0 lead. Verstegen extended the Stout lead by tallying his second goal at the 7:13 mark.
After CWU slipped the puck past freshman netminder
Dawson Green midway though the second Hart scored his first on the power play with justunder two minutes left in the middle period.Â
Hart scored in second of the night at the 10:56 mark of the third and completed the hat trick just a minute and 14 seconds later.
Trenten Heyde assisted on both goals.Â
Maksis Brimanis scored a shorthanded goal four and half minutes later to extend the lead to 8-1. Dahlseide finished of the scoring with a 5 on 3 power play tally with 34 seconds left in the game.Â
Green made 20 saves on 21 shots to pick up his first collegiate win.Â
Stout finished with 85 shots attempted with 57 on goal.
