UW-Stout 69, UW-Platteville 67
PLATTEVILLE (January 22, 2022) –
Raegan Sorensen hit the game-winner as the time ticked off to lift UW-Stout to a 69-67 win at UW-Platteville Saturday on Bo Ryan Court.

The closely played contest featured 10 tied scores, five in each half. Stout (10-7, 5-2 WIAC) took a 67-65 lead on a free throw by
Amanda Giesen and a free throw by Sorensen. But the Pioneers' Maiah Damask tied the score with a pair of free throws, setting up Sorensen's winner. Sorensen got the inbound pass from
Sam Schaeffer.

For Sorensen, it was her second game-winning shot in as many games. The freshman hit the game-winner against UW-Stevens Point Wednesday.

Sorensen finished the game with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Anna Mutch led Stout with 16 points and Giesen had 13 points.

Domask led all scorers with 23 points. Brynlee Nelson scored 17 points, Sarah Mueller 12 and Taylor Gilbert 11.

Stout led at the end of the first period, 10-7, but Platteville (9-8, 2-5 WIAC) took a 28-24 halftime lead. The Blue Devils took the lead back by the end of the third period, 47-44.

Stout shot 44.4 percent (28-63) from the floor, 21.4 percent (3-14) from 3-point ranked and 71.4 percent (10-14) from the line. The Pioneers shot 46.6 percent (27-58) from field goal range, 16.7 percent (2-12) from 3-point range and 68.8 percent (11-16) from the free throw line.

Stout edged the Pioneers in the rebounding game, pulling down 31 to the Pioneers 29. Sorensen led all players with eight. Domask, Gilbert and Addison Baierl each had seven rebounds for Platteville.

Stout will host UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
