St. Olaf College 4, UW-Stout 3
MENOMONIE (January 15, 2022) -Â With the score tied at 1-1 midway through the first period, St. Olaf College ran off three consecutive goals but had to hold off UW-Stout in the end in a 4-3 decision Saturday at the Fanetti Community Center.

The Oles' Ashton Altmann scored just over a minute into the game, but Stout (5-11-0) answered back four minutes later when
Raphael Gosselin scored on the power play, with an assist by
Matt Dahlseide, to knot the game, Gosselin's third power play goal of the season.

The Oles (6-7-3) scored twice over two minutes in the period, scoring at 10:41 on a shorthanded goal by Eric Brown and two minutes later on an even strength goal by Jonathon Young to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room. St. Olaf stretched the score to three goals, 4-1, at the 13:39 mark in the second on goal by Evan Shoemaker.

Stout pulled to within 4-2 at the 14:19 mark on a goal by Dahlseide, his second goal of the weekend. Dahlseide was assisted by Peter Verstegan and
Noah Carson.Â
The Blue Devils made it a one-goal game with three minutes remaining when
Caleb Serre scored with an extra attacker on the ice. Assists went to
Alex Nagel and Carson

Zack Cloutier absorbed the loss after coming in for an injured
Tyler Masternak, who made the start. Cloutier recorded 18 saves to four for Masternak. Cloutier gave up one goal, but it was the eventual game-winning goal, while Masternak surrendered three goals.

Lukas Haugen recorded 27 saves for the Oles.

Stout returns to conference play Thursday, Jan. 20 when they host Northland College at 7 p.m.
