THIS WEEK'S MATCHES: The Blue Devils (9-6, 1-1 WIAC) will host #19
UW-Stevens Point (15-3, 2-0 WIAC), Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. The Pointers jumped up from the receiving votes category to 19th in the Sept. 28 AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, but then lost in a close 3-0 match at Augsburg University Sept. 29.

PARKING: Parking on the UW-Stout campus is restricted during the business week. For games in Johnson Fieldhouse during the week, please plan to park in Lot 29. Do not park in Lot 4, which is a reserved lot for students that live in the residence halls.
2021 UW-STOUT BLUE DEVILS: Sidney Hoverman is third in the WIAC in kills, averaging 3.63 kills over 56 sets played. Out of 15 matches, Hoverman has had 13 matches in double digit kills.
Lexie Nelson is fifth in the league in hitting percentage (.303) and is third in the league in assists (8.02). She trails only Hoverman and
Jessica Barr (1.81 k/s) in kills with 1.75. Barr leads Stout in blocks with three solo blocks and 39 block assists for a 0.74 blocks/set average. |

BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: UW-Stout won the first set, but Macalester College came back to take the next three sets - including a pair of long games - in a 3-1 decision last Saturday at Leonard Center. The Blue Devils won the first set, 25-22, but Macalester turned that score around for a 25-22 win in the second set. The third and fourth sets both went beyond regulation, with the Scots taking them 26-24, 30-28. The final set was tight all the way, with no more than a four point difference at any point in the set. After the score tied at 21-21, the score was tied five times until Macalester took the final two points. The 28 points scored by Stout was the most since a match with Bethel University, Sept. 14, 2019.
Elise Banitt scored a career-best 14 kills and was matched by
Jessica Barr to lead Stout.

Grace Michalski is second in the league in assists (9.45) and eighth in service aces (0.40). Emma Peterson is fifth in digs (4.46). Sidney Mosinski is eighth in blocks with five solo blocks and 44 assisted blocks. |

LAST TIME OUT: No. 19 UW-Stevens Point saw its win streak snapped at 13 matches in straight sets at Augsburg on Wednesday. The Pointers played well and narrowly lost in each set for a 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 final. Reis Derousseau posted a career-best 11 kills for the Pointers, her second double-figure match of the year. Ashley Kopp led the Pointers with 16 kills. Emma Peterson led UWSP with 13 digs and Grace Michalske had a team-high 34 assists.. The Pointers extended their winning streak to 13 games with four wins last weekend at the 2021 Pointer Invitational, downing Bethel University, 3-1, to avenge one of their early season losses, and beating the University of Chicago, 3-1, Millikin University, 3-0, and St. Olaf College, 3-1.
LAST TIME THEY MET: UW-Stout won the first set, but UW-Stevens Point came back to win the final three sets and took the match, 3-1, Sept. 25, 2019, in Berg Gym. The Blue Devils won the first set, 25-17, but the Pointers came back to take the final three sets, 25-23, 25-20, 25-12. The Pointers' April Gehl knocked down a match-high 18 kills. Tara Emme had 11 kills. The Pointers recorded 20 assisted blocks. McKylie Hoff recorded nine kills to lead Stout. Kara Simonson and

THE SERIES: The Pointers have won the last 14 matches, dating back to 2008 when Stout won a 3-1 decision at Stevens Point. The Blue Devils have not beaten the Pointers in Johnson Fieldhouse since Oct. 14, 2005, when they won 3-1 and stretched a winning streak to five games over the Pointers. |

UW-STOUT COACH MANDY TRAUTMANN: Coach
Mandy Trautmann (44-30) is in her fourth season as the head coach of the Blue Devils in 2021. In her first season as head coach in 2018, Trautmann led the Blue Devils to a home WIAC playoff berth, the first for the Blue Devils since 2004. Trautmann took over the Blue Devils after a season as an assistant coach. Prior to coming to Stout, Trautmann was the team captain for UW-Oshkosh in 2015, a season the Titans captured the WIAC regular season championship. Trautmann was a two-time first team all-WIAC selection in 2014 and 2015, and an honorable mention choice in 2013. She was named to the all-WIAC defensive team in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
